McGraw Hill Education approached Gnomic to spearhead brand development and product design for their new study app, originally named Redi. Intended to complement the Higher Education classroom experience, Sharpen gives students the required material for their courses in bite-sized videos, flash cards, and quizzes in a gamified activity dashboard.
The Sharpen identity is based
on a combination of simple, accessible typography and a dynamic approach to animation that operates both as a marketing element and part of the app itself. A diverse cast of characters guides students on their path, functioning as study helpers and in animated “medals” which track students’ progress and reward their success.
